Sometimes I think HaShem has more faith in my ability to overcome difficult issues; other times, I know for sure He does!
Why does it always seem like only many large problems come so easily into my life? I have had to overcome so many, and it has taken a very long time.
The thing about it is that if I had only had one at a time, I would have overcome them sooner. However, I just realized (as I write this) I wouldn’t be the person I am today.
Carrying these problems from as far back as age four, my life has been difficult. Marked with multiple traumas, which I have just finally healed from a few months before becoming sixty.
I’m not bitter. I learned in a group meeting from a famous rabbi that when someone overcomes difficult challenges, one is elevated to a higher spiritual level than one would be had one not had that challenge in one’s life. In other words, although hardship is difficult to carry, in the end, it makes one stronger.
That famous rabbi also taught us that overcoming difficulties makes it easier for others to do the same. Which is why I write about my past difficulties and how I overcame life’s challenges, which was my burden to carry; it is my hope that anyone struggling to overcome their life’s difficulties as well.
Be Well,
Yosef
P.S. I was initially planning this as a song, but I decided to use it as my “about the author” on yosefmichael.com. I think about this, and may still write a song on this topic.
